First off, thanks again to all of you who sent me so many great suggestions for places to go on my photo road trip back in December! :) Well I finally took the time to sift through all the photos I took on the trip and have posted them in a new collection in my portfolio titled "California Coast 12/16/06 - 12/21/06". I had a GREAT time on the trip, and a big part of that was due to the great suggestions I received.
I also had the chance to finally meet a fellow DPC member - jdannels. While I was up in the San Francisco area, he made an effort to show me some of the coolest photo spots. You rock, Joe! It really reinforced my opinion that DPC is an awesome group of people who for the most part are all here to help out and encourage others. I love this place. :D In case you don't want to sift through that whole collection, here are some of my favorites (OK, I guess it's almost all of them... ;) ):
Mount Tamalpais
Muir Woods
Coastal Sonoma County
Rodeo Beach
jdannels GTG
17-Mile Drive
Point Lobos State Reserve
Big Sur
Moi :)

Wow! Some great shots, Sean! Did you trace your route on a map? That's always cool to put in with the pics. Thanks for posting them! |

Thanks! :) I have a good idea where I took most all of the photos, but I haven't taken the time to really map out the full route yet. I think that's a great idea though! :D |

Here are a few of Sean at a couple different stops. We had a good time as I drove slightly aimlessly through the city. Luckily he didn't know his way around :) |

wowie! I did that trip and didn't get nearly as good results... of course it was my first weekend with my new camera so I think I went more on the quantity vs. quality side out of pure exitement and ended up with a whole lot of nothing.
This makes me want to try again! |

Cool! Glad you had a great time. There's an interesting factoid associated witht his view of Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park: that is the ONLY waterfall on the Pacific Coast of the Americas that falls directly into the ocean (when the tide is up, of course).
You got a bunch of nice shots, dude.

Those are some nice images. Come on down a bit more south to southern California. Here we don't need to wear knit caps or parkas. :-) The photo ops are different and just as plentiful.
