noisemaker that photo is beautiful be proud of yourself. And kudos for the way you have handled the DQ.
Having said that I'm a bit confused about the presence of a baby in the nude challenge is there an age where nudity becomes illegal? I seem to remember also seeing a photo of a pre teen nude taken by her mother on this site. Does anyone know the maximum and minimum ages for these strange laws? |

from my understand, depending on your country, under 15-16 is illegal regardless, 16-18 is legal with parental consent.
if you scan the model release form, signed by her parents, and submit it with your photo, you might be ok.
again, DPC would have to check the legality of it. but it might be a workaround!!! |
well by the time the next nude challenge will be coming she'll be of age. ill still onyl be 17 but theres no laws against underage Photogs!.....isthere? |

nah, i don't think so.
but i hope to have a future in this area.i just have NO idea of what to get into. i want to get into with working with people more. but i also love going out and doing scenery. but i live on an island with not pretty beaches and almost never elaborate sky and mountain scapes. so its hard to get nice landscapes here as well. |

actually, i'm going to put the blame on DPC here. why??? in the challenge they should STATE that models must be 18 years and over. then things like this could be avoided.
so i don't think it's your fault noisemaker. DPC should cover stuff like this in their TOU and in the challenge criteria.

that's a question for lawyers.. but for the most part, child shots *not* showing genitalia are generally safe.
If the photo you're referring to with the pre-teen is the one I'm thinking of, it is a personal portfolio photo and wasn't a challenge photo.. and those, I do believe, aren't treated the same way as they would be in a challenge.

Just shoot, you'll discover your path. FWIW, you are a damn good nude photographer :-D But, you're young, take a few paths and settle on the one that most suits you.

you know what, I need to get something off of my chest. I did a SP. I'm not as thin as lots of the other models, and my skin isn't as smooth either. My lighting IS good (at least some aspects were intended) the way it is. Ok, I had my doubts about the compo as well, but this was the best imo.
It's been a long time since I've scored a very low 5, heck, that was in may 2006 (4.6), so I really really wanna know WHAT is going on and WHAT isn't nice about my image.
To be honest. This pisses me off a bit, and I'm really really considering to self-DQ.

you knwo what, i totally agree. Like it never once crossed my mind while shooting and during voting that i did something wrong. i think a more clear definition would be able to clarify it so i dont submit "child porn" again |

LoL.. Ive gotten the actual phrase Tacky, something that equals Ewwww and a flat out NOPE. Grins.. no implied meanings, straight up comments.
You try to have a little fun with something and sometimes you get slammed. ;)
I'm currently on a downward spiral, but the comments, (over 30) positive and neg. are still awesome. Takes all of us and our varied opinions to make the world interesting. I know how I feel about my picture, and it was a personal journey of courage.. So cool to read comments from people who take the photo in the nature it was intended. I like to have fun

someone commented on my shot when it was in voting and they actually thought i was my girlfriend! and they were like ive seen yo ubefore, your beautiful. it was super wierd and creepy in a way |

the world is full of weird and creepy people, that's why the 18+ rule is there.
If I posted my photo on another forum I visit a lot, my MSN would've been beeping off the hook with creepy little horny guys...
just for a set of boobs..

You're right, there's not a lot of difference, which is why a bunch of porn sites thrive on the barely legal genre.
FWIW, I won't shoot any shots of under-18 girls that can be in any way construed as provocative. I just don't want the legal headaches that could come from it, even if the shot was clothed. America (and the world) is becoming a weird place.
All it takes is one young prosecutor with big dreams and an ego to make life a living hell, even if the verdict comes out not guilty, the cost of fighting it alone could ruin someone.

Jeez Dustin, I'm sorry to hear about your DQ. It sux. Here in Germany things are a bit more liberal I think. Though I haven't taken any pictures of under 18's.
How do all those people know which image was yours if it is now no longer there & everything is anonymous? |

...ever walked around a highschool lately? and parents complain saying teachers are "Looking" at their daughters
WELL OF COURSE THEY ARE there wearing like 3 inch skirts and a shirt that is so low cut there boobs are almost falling out. Its hard not to look and think what is wrong with them?!?!!?!?! |
