Finally!
It was actually made a year ago which means I don't like it anymore but I don't have the resources (i.e. money, talent, etc) to make a new one. So here's an updated one I just finished 2 minutes ago:
my site
P.S. Let me know if you see any weird spelling or grammar, and of course if something doesn't work.
I still have to figure out how to change the photos.

You might not still like it, but I think it is quite nice. I am not sure what is going on with the photos though. They are just changing when I dont want them to, and when i do, they are not. otherwise good job. |

They change on hover not on click. |

That's a tough navigation system; it doesn't seem particularly intuitive to me. Took me a few to figure out that the little diamonds were photo links. It might serve your future customers better if you made it a bit more obvious how to find the work. Other than that, a clever layout and refreshingly uncluttered. |

You have some beautiful work! And I like that your personality seems to be integrated into several aspects of the site, including your copy.
The only thing that troubled me for a moment were the little diamonds to mouse over in order to see the next photo. I figured it out pretty quick, but I could see where it might take some people a little more time...and time is everything on the net, as they say.
LOVED the Right Brain/Left Brain bit....genius :-) |

Thanks everyone! When I originally made the site last year (and posted here) people made the same comments about the navigation/diamonds. I was going to change it but when I sent it out to clients/friends/family no one had any problems with it.
I'm not sure if people are just being polite and not wanting to tell me they couldn't figure it out :-)
I'm ever the minimalist so I don't WANT to have to put up instructions but I'll consider it.
Thanks again all,
Lori |

Love the site, almost as much as that picture of James Brown.

It's still a great site Lori. As for the diamonds they are somewhat confusing at first but this being an "artsy" site alot of "rules" are thrown out the window. However, if you're looking to make it more "professional" you might want to consider just putting a few words above/below the diamonds in your own quirky way. Just a simple "hover for pics" or "rollover to change pics". Or make them by click and not hover.
Other than that, I still love the site.
What do you want changed about it?

Okay, I'll add some text near the buttons! Just for you guys :-)
I just added a link on the pricing page to my wedding brochure (it's a jpeg) and the link is there and looks all pertty but I can't get it to actually go to anything. New project! |

I just put in some navigation instructions on the photo pages...in the only spot i could get the text to go without sending the rest of the page in hysterics. I'm a beginner! hahahaha |

I like the site, it's pretty unique but still simple.
I wish there were a way to at least see the images bigger if you wanted...not sure how you would do that... maybe click on it once its displayed for a new window or something. I dont think they need to be bigger on the site, I guess I just want that option.
Some really cool band shots ... but I could do without that one that looks like a photo copy, and without the one using the selective desat...I think the portfolio would be a lot stronger without those (especially the photocopyish one) |

I threw the photocopy one in to fill up the spot thinking I'd change it in a week or two....that turned into more like a year. hahahah I don't even remember where it came from.
POOF! It's gone.... :-)

I feel like i'm thinking way to much while I'm trying to navigate and figure out whats going on. As art its a nice site, but as business I think its a little un-intuitive and confusing. |

Exactly! I'm looking for like-minded individuals to work with. If a potential client can't figure out my site than they probably aren't meant to work with me. So it saves us all time. :-) That probably sounds nutty, but it works for me.
