I am about to buy a stroboframe and want to make sure I am making no false assumptions...
1. The stroboframe camera flip bracket will connect properly to my Canon 350d. On //www.tiffen.com they list it under a "For Cameras with Built-in or Accessory Grips" category. I am pretty sure it will fit though.
2. Along with the stroboframe I will need the Canon TTL off-camera shoe cord 2.
3. I will be able to attach the stoboframe to my tripod as per usual.
Does anyone know if anyone of those assumptions is false? |

Which version are you getting? I use the Pro-Rl and I can mount it on my tripod, I have a grip attached to the camera, and yes you will need the cord. It's great if you have a quick release mount for your tripod, that way if you need to take a break and set the camera down you just put it on the tripod instead of laying the whole setup down on a table or something.
One thing I'll advise you with the cord, use the screw mount underneath the hotshoe to mount it to the bracket NOT the optional Stroboframe shoe:
The little feet or tabs on the underside of the hotshoe are very fragile and break easily when mounted in the Stroboframe shoe mount. (hope all that makes sense) That could be bad if you get the Stroboframe where you flip the flash around all day. I bought the SF shoe and broke one side off my cord shoe simply by removing my Lightsphere with the flash still attached to the frame. |

Thanks Marc.
I am planning to get the Stroboframe "camera flip bracket"
(it rotates the camera but is less $$ than your model)
When I attach flashes to stands, I place a strip of duck tape over the connecting piece... so that the little flash feet don't scrape against the metal...
That optional quick-release mount is $$. Does the bottom of the frame have the usual screw hole ? I would likely leave the camera in the frame at all times, and attach the tripod's plate to the bottom of it... so that I could always pop it on and off the tripod... |

| That one should work just fine for everything mentioned above. I like these kinds much better than a "flash flip" kind. I see that it comes with the shoe mount already, I would take that off and just screw in the cord's hotshoe to the frame. Much sturdier that way IMO. Oh, one other thing, I bought the "anti-twist plate" too, but found out later it doesn't fit the camera with the grip attached, DUH! :-) So don't bother with that option. |
