lmao she should be, like any wild animal she poops when she wants to, pees when she wants to and just spent 10 minutes trying to eat my toes!
And yeah, Lexi is jealous so I'm trying hard to give her tons of attention. I'm hoping they become playmates soon since Lexi gets so lonely when I have to go out for a while. (Neighbors tell me she (Lexi) barks non-stop when I'm not home)

Maxx is about 21 months. He apparently doesn't know he's a bichon/toy poodle mix, because he's 23 pounds and not overweight 8-0. We expected 10-16 pounds "max".
Hopefully Lexi will get over the jealousness and realize that "new playmate" is more fun than "new chew toy", LOL. Dachsunds do have their own personality type, though, don't they? My cousin used to breed Dachsunds; I always enjoyed visiting. They're a hoot, and Lexi is a cutie. So's her new companion!
@yanko: Yep, geeky dog might have fit me better, but my wife and daughter "stuck" me with Mr. Maxx, and, well, I'm happy with our very un-geeky, un-macho, apricot dog :-) |

I thought he looked a little big for a "toy" breed! Still an uber-cute dog... as un-geeky as he might be. :P

We haven't lost any shoes in a long time, but we call the younguns, "Soul Suckers", because they can suck a in-soul out of a shoe faster than a dropped piece of meat can disappear down a waiting throat. I don't know what the attraction is, but sometimes if my wife leaves the bedroom door open and they've gotten into the closet, we'll find in-souls spread out all over the bedroom floor, out the hall, down the stairs and into a crate or two where they like to nap.
When the 3 bad sisters were younger, one had a keen taste for fine leather. She got one of my wife's daughters expensive leather boots, a belt or two, a leather glove, and who knows what else. Sometimes the evidence would appear a day or two later out in the potty run sometimes all we'd find was a buckle or snap. One of the other bad sisters liked her leather with a little more meat to it... she took one of my size 9 1/2" flight boots from top down to the toe, leaving me a combat boot flip flop. What really ticked me off about it was that since I was no longer in the Air Force I couldn't get them replaced. I do still have the good one around, although I don't know why. I wish I had kept the flip flop one though. LOL!

So Bridgette survived her first full week with us and we survived our first full week with Bridgette. Wow, she's a nut! Lexi is and always was a mellow puppy, would rather lay at my feet than anything else in the world. Bridgette, however, is a hyper-active shoe-eating nonsense-barking poop machine with curls! Lexi's jealousy is getting better, but she still thinks to kick Bridgette's butt at least once a day just for good measure.
I've had to "baby proof" the house all over again because Bridgette finds EVERYTHING and chews on it. She's fond of power cords and paper, but will be perfectly happy with your shoes or some styrofoam or cat litter. LOL Aren't puppies fun??? *rolls eyes* :P

You can almost see the straps you are using to hold her still while you get the shot. LOL!
Cute shot. To soon they grow up though... even faster than kids.

Thanks, Kashi. I just gave her a rawhide strip for the first time -- she's going nuts with it. I'm hoping it will save my toes this morning. :)

Little Bridgette is going to the vet this morning for her lil' girlie surgery. I HATE doing it to her, the anesthesia, etc. is awful, but I know it has to be done. I had a horrible dream last night that she didn't make it through the operation. :(
So help me think good thoughts today and hopefully I'll be shooting funny shots of little drunk Bridgette this afternoon. :)

Good luck and good thoughts, Cindi! I had to take my female cat in for oral surgery awhile back, and though I KNOW it wasn't funny to her, I really did try not to laugh... For the first hour I had her home, she was bobble-head cat. Then she'd get up and fall over. I swear, I really did try not to laugh, but it was indeed funny. She felt much better after a good night's sleep, I might add. |

Well she's dropped off. They're going to go ahead and remove a couple of puppy teeth while they have her because they are getting shoved by bigger teeth behind them. Everything will be fine..... thinking good thoughts!
Thanks, Deb. Glad your kitty recovered well. :)
