But wouldn't it be funny if in every challenge there were a photo from a classic artist entered as a dummy so we could look at all the diffrent ways that people would bash that image and score it in the 4's? It would keep people on their toes looking for the artistic merit of photographs that is for sure.
I know this could never happen nor should, but I think it would be interesting and probably fun at the same time. |

Yes, poor Ansel. Finished 11th in the Ansel Adams challenge before being DQ'd for being dead.
and he got 2-2s and 5-3s.

Nikon D70s 03/11/2005 08:37:40 AM
Composition: 9, Love the framing of the first door
Technical: 8, Great tone range. Only thing I can suggest is to decrease the jpeg compression slightly so the shades in the sky are a little smoother
Appeal: 9
Challenge: 10, Shot could be directly out of Ansel's camera if I didn't know better
Overall Calculated Average Score: 9 |

LOL I hate when that happens.

I know that was great.
I just would love to see the comments after each challenge for the "mystery photo". Something hanging in a museum but being voted on. |

I really like the idea... maybe D&L should start doing that. It would be nice to see how we stack up against "masters". :-)

Ya, and on top of that we would get some good laughs in there. It would make you be careful of your "overcritical" comments...lol |

Just because someone is a "master" doesn't mean EVERYONE likes their photos or thinks they all deserve 10's. There is a lot of "art" out there selling for top dollar that I think is crap and I bet you do too.

I agree with Karen....I see lots of prints by big-time artists hanging in offices, houses, whatevers that I don't see the appeal of. As far as guys like AA, I like about half of his stuff. Specifically, I think most of his techniques are better than the actual photos. |

That is the beauty of the plan. You get to be the judge. Good times.
Lots of art is misunderstood as well. I know mine is...lol

All of his stuff is poop. Blind as a bat ... a blind bat. He couldn't take a picture of a rattlesnake if it bit him. Because he's be dead. Which he is anyway so I guess my point is moot ... or mute ... or something.

I would love to see one in every challange. Make people wonder, look longer, and think about how they are scoring.

It would be cool to do it once in a while but every challenge? No way. All that would do is start to affect voting of real entries as people try to "guess" which is the fake entry. |

It has been done ONCE. So, I guess we never do it again. How boring! :)
