I recieved a request to shoot a few events. One being an on location shoot with a few models and another being the actual runway show.
anyways, the guy running it apparently has a pretty large budget and asked me what kind of equipment i need to make the prints.
I know it probably depends on the size of the prints, but im not positive yet. Its for a portfolio so im sure they will probably be no larger than 11 inches.
here's what he told me
"
what I need you to do is tell me what you will need..as far as printing goes so that I can include it in the budget. We will want to print a pic for the mock judges, and one for a scrapbook that I am composing, and one to two for the model. So how do you usally print your digital images? What kind of paper do you use? I am also applying for funding for makeup..hair...prizes, portfolio books for the models, and looking for sponsors to let us borrow clothing"
does anyone have any suggestions on printers?
thanks so much! |

Hey Evan,
First congrats on the photo shoot. I use the Canon Pixma 9000 to print my images, this can do upto an 13x19 image. Their about 500 bucks and can be picked up at best buy. they have lab quality printing though.

Hi Evan, congrats
I use a Epson R1800. The canon Pixma 9000 suggested is a little bit better as far as resolution and color range are concerned. The canon is also a lot better than the epson for printing speed. Still you should get informed if lightfastness (print life expectancy) is important because this is the point where the epson is waaaay better than the canon and it also can print on thicker paper. You can't go wrong with both of them. Just make sure to know what's more important in this particular occasion. |
