Man,, it takes forever for my iPhoto to load.

It certainly shouldn't. Even on my old G4, a library with thousands of RAW files opens pretty quickly. If Aperture won't launch either, something may be screwed up. I would first try repairing permissions on your hard drive with Disk Utility (in Applications> Utilities).

Hum, it's opening fine now. I just restarted to see if it would help, and it did. I don't usually turn off my laptop, and guess it got gunky.

I tried the Aperture demo -- it doesn't open on my computer. I double click it, then it opens the icon in the dock, then closes. haha, I wonder why.

Have you installed it?

Yep, it did it's thing, and I tried opening it under the apps . no such luck

I just downloaded the trial version, installed, and it's opening just fine. Silly question maybe, but are you sure it's not working? It takes a moment to load ....

yeah, because it closes itself. lol. What are you running? I have a MacBook.

Weird. I don't know. I have an iMac, and it loads really, really fast, but so far I don't like it all that much. Reminds me of that other program by Adobe, LightRoom I think? Something like that.

Well, I'd at least like to get it open. lol. Did you enter the code after it was installed?

Intel Macs, G5s and a few G4 Powerbooks.

I wonder why it won't open then? It's really bizarre.

Does Aperture rely on any of the apple programs to work? Like, I deleted the comic life, garage band, etc off my macbook as I won't be using them. Does Aperture need any of those type programs to run?

Did you run the Compatibility Checker listed on the trial page?

It's probably integrated with GarageBand, iDVD, etc., but doesn't require them. It relies on core graphics that are part of the OS itself.
