Hovering around this point and mine's neither zoo nor backyard. My backyard is under 3 feet of snow so nothing much goes there at the moment. Accept maybe the hare in the middle of the night. |

How do you tell the difference between an animal that has been taken from the wild and put in a zoo and one that knows nothing other than the zoo?
Just another angle. You don't have to agree. |
Very intersting point! We have numerous animal/bird rehab people in the area. (northern CO mountains) (Actually, a cottage industry, if you want to know the truth... a function of the encroachment of the megalopolis on the wilderness!) I don't rehab animals, but I've heard some passionate stories from those who do. To make a long story short... we, as humans, are narrowing down the wilderness areas... with dire consequences for the birds and animals. |

The more humans expand the more we encroach on the habitat of the animals. This leads coyotes, cougars, bears and whatever else to wander through residential neighbourhoods. The outcome of these wanderings is not always good for the animals. |

Hanging on to the 5's by a thread... Does anyone notice a huge change in their score as the week goes by or is the first day usually indicative of the ending result??? |

Once you hit about 100 votes your score won't change much.

Here's a jinx...
Neither you nor Jason are gonna win the blue. That honor will go to a shy, reserved and soon to be first time ribbon winner. :)

I was enjoying the debate. I freely admit that I took my shot in a large 'bio-dome' in a zoo. According to the comments I have already been marked down for suspected unnatural environment. I understand why this is the case, and I accept it; even though I (like the master of appearances himself, Shannon) disagree with that school of thought. My image could have been taken in the wild, and then I would be extremely annoyed at having been marked down, as some others have been. The appearance of the image is everything - which is why, despite having been marked down I am still on course for a PB.

This challenge is wonderful. I probably won't be voting but I am amazed at the quality of these images!! You guys are fantastic! Lots of personal new favorites from a challenge category that is very dear to me.
Just about every one of these images tells a story or makes you wonder what is going on inside the mind of the animal.

Ok so fruit are used to denote 7+ scores and veggies for high 6 scores? Not that I'll ever need it but what's used for 8+ scores? |
