Ok so I am looking for a good lense. At this point I have the 18-55 kit lense the 75-300 F4-5.6 III USM and a 50 1.8 II.
I have a small home studio and am interested in portrait and stock photography. This is what I have been looking at.
The EF 16-35 2.8L
The EF 24-70 2.8L
The EF 17-55 2.8 IS
I am leaning to the 24-70 2.8L. With the price of the 17-55 2.8IS and the 24-70 2.8L close to the same, What would you suggest?
Thanks for your time.

You couldn't? It's linked right at the bottom of the review you linked to.
Three more reviews...
EF 16-35mm f/2.8 USM L
EF 24-70mm f/2.8 USM L
EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 USM IS |

I've just bought the 24-70mm 2.8L and so far it's knocked my socks off.
The USM is so fast and silent, the sharpness, the build quality, everything. The only drawback other than the price obviously is the weight of the thing, it's really heavy, which doesn't really bother me but it might some. |

may not be and option but...
have you thought of getting a tamron 28-75 f2.8 and this the extra money getting a 17-40 f4L?
the tamron is a kickass lens ( although I have not used the canon) and so is the 17-40.
because from what i undersand if you are going to be doing a lot of stock /portraits etc.. you have the super sharp 50mm prime anyway.
Just an idea.

The 17-55 is an EF-S, you won't be able to use it if ever you upgrade to Full Frame. I have it though and I'm very satisfied. IS comes in handy.
The 27-70 2.8 gives you some extra reach on the long end, but you lose quite a bit of wide anlge, which I use a lot. Plus it is a good deal heavier and larger. Scares small children.

The "Plus it is a good deal heavier and larger. Scares small children."

| They're all fantastic, and that's all there is to it. But you could also get 2-3 good primes for the price of one of those. The sigma 30.14, the canon 50 1.4, and the canon 85 1.8 would be awesome for studio work. |

i'm sure you won't regret it. I have that one and it is a super all round lens. I use it for the exact same purpose as you. stock and portraits.
