It appears that B&H just launched their new site for real, and I'm getting an error when I try to search for almost anything. Anybody else care to give it a shot? www.bhphotovideo.com\

Yup, I get a few errors, too. I'm sure they're still working out the kinks.

Search is working fine for me, but ICK I HATE that design, hated it in Beta and hate it now.

Well, I just got an error... and I still hate the design.

Actually a lot of it seems to be not working. Oh well :(

I don't really mind the design, just something new to get used to. You'd think they'd have had the beta up long enough to get it all working though. How dare they mess up my shopping!

All seems to be working fine for me. Just did some searches as well as followed bookmarked links and all pages loaded/displayed as should. searches were accurate.

I search for "Canon 50" and its find, but "Canon 50mm" gives an error. The error Kerm posted.

Edit: Looks like maybe it won't let you mix 2+ letters with numbers or vice versa? Jinkies!

I was only able to get one search to work, all subsequent attempts failed. The site evidently went live this AM; I was on there last night and it was the old layout.
On another topic, anyone placed an online order in the last day or so? I tried four times... three times yesterday, once today... and it hangs at the very end of the process. Finally had to phone the order in.

Placed one on Friday and it worked fine. I even squeaked it in seconds before they closed for the weekend. They don't typically take orders on Saturday, do they?

They do after sundown. The sabbath actually runs from sundown Friday to sundown Saturday.

That has always struck me as weird that their online site doesn't except orders over the weekend when everything is automated.

Me too. I'd much prefer they post a notice that says they won't actually act upon the order until Monday or something and just let me order when I want to. That's the whole point of the internet, isn't it?

It goes against their religion to do any business on their sabbath, or other holy days. I guess they decided business began with the customers order at the website. Whether any employees were present or not. As much business as they do they probably have a few people somewhere all hours of the day except holidays.

I wrote them an e-mail and told them it sucked... REALLY :-)

Ofcourse I also added the various errors I was getting and then told them the layout was horrible. :-)

I figured that's the case for the people who work for the company but I never realize that their "servers" were also religious.

Their beliefs forbid them from doing business, therefor they stop all web transactions since a web transaction is considered business. The website is no different than window shopping during these hours. They are not doing business. ;)
