Tim and the kids and I were out driving around looking for wildlife shots today and encountered this incredible sight at an intersection. A tiny car was driving straight for us for what looked to be a certain head-on (luckily he drove around us just in time). Extremely invigorating let me tell ya! He was followed by about 25 police cars. I grabbed for the camera and shot this thru the windshield. Several cops had passed by the time I was ready to shoot. A sight I sure hope to never see in the rearview mirror!!! Not a stunning shot or anything but it sure was a stunning sight and situation!

Nothing like endangering the public....I wonder if 25-ish cop cars was really necessary. |

Nice shot but try and reach for the camera sooner. Had this been a head on collision you would have missed some great shots.
Oh and glad you guys are safe. :)

Let me throw my side of the story. We saw a cop coming onto the bridge and get out. We thought there was a jumper but we think what he was trying to do was pull out spike strips. Glad he didnt cause we would have been right inthe path for sure. We saw all the cop cars first - not a sight I have ever seen before live in person. As Aimee was bending over to get the camera I saw the little car coming weaving in and out of the traffic. We were in the far left lane getting ready to turn when I saw him coming. Aimee is thinking picture. I am thinking - wow this guy is gonna hit us and there aint a thing I can do about it. So I guess Aimee wasnt really too far off. I mean if we are gonna get hit might as well get a pic of the guy before he hits us. Would that image fit into enter or exit? Free Study for sure.
Now here is the really sad part of the day. We are coming home from taking pics at a local park afterwards and Aimee asks me where the camera bag is. For an instant I think that I left it at the park. The feeling I had in my gut in regards to possibly losing the bag, compared to the oncoming stream of cop cars, was a bit more intense. How sad is that? :) Firey crash and death of my family is underrated compared to me losing $400 worth of lenses.

I was more worried about the bag too but that was only because I thought he would hit your side! ; )

It is but now that they posted it I'm sure at some point Art will photoshop some naked person running from the cops or something. :P

Pretty impressive.... glad you won't be one of the innocent bystanders cars that they show getting HIT on Cops or Most Wanted! Whew! Funny about the camera equipment lump in the throat. That would be me, too! |

A couple cars already passed by?
Am I the only one wondering why she isn't pulled over to the right??
Glad one of them didn't nail you in their pursuit - cool once in a lifetime shot though!

From what I gathered, they were stopped to turn left when all this happened. Which, as a Fire truck and Ambulance driver I'd rather you just stay there and NOT move (if there is room for me to get around) than to move and maybe getting in my way. |

In that situation, best thing to do is stop and stay where you are. Last thing you want is to swerve and have the oncoming car swerve the same way.

Well - I was driving and the first two cop cars that showed up were in front of us going our direction (you can see the one parked on the right and theother is behind the front car) and it looked like they were going to block the bridge so we had started to try and take a left. We had to wait for the oncoming traffic to clear when we saw the rest of them coming and by then there were cars to the right of us - two lanes worth all basically stopped. Ultimately I thought (hoped) there was enough room inthe three lanes to our left that everything would pass by. No way I wanted to start moving in the direction of all them cars coming at me. Better chance of them missing me if I am stationary I figure than if I start moving. Who knows what the runner is gonna do - hes running from 25 cop cars! I dont need to be in the middle of an intersection that he might decide to take a turn on.
Not the typical day in the Too household thats for sure.

Odds are there's a lot of important information that's not readily apparent from this photograph.

We sure love to complain about the police, don't we? Doesn't matter if they ARE doing their job or if they are NOT. We complain.
Gosh, BradP, is it REALLY necessary to use 15 layers to edit a pic when 12 would do? After all, your subject is a small bug. Does it really need to look THAT good? I think you could do it with a simple gradient and a single curves adjustment layer. Naw, you don't need all that other stuff! Relax! No sense being SURE you get it looking right.

Thank you for finding that. We had checked out the local tv station websites earlier only to find nothing. That was exactly it as we were on Broad Street when they zoomed by. With the details listed in that article that guy had been running for quite some distance. Glad we didnt see it come to an end.
