Stumbled across this e-bay auction for what seems to be a decent price for a basic studio lighting set-up.
However, being totally unfamiliar with everything (technically) - am wondering what the seasoned members here think.
I'm not thrilled with the color backdrop - but not a biggy since I have a more earthy colored one.
The seller has decent feedback.

| They are low power but if you have a small space they might work for you. |

The two main strobes are 160 w/s each... that's the same as the AB400s.

Ah, I glanced and thought I saw 75 and 36 for the strobes instead of 160 and 36 for the strobes and 75 for the modeling light. |

You can get better lights for about the same price. Check out the Excalibur SP (SP-3200 comes in a good 2 light set) line on B&H. They are good lights and come with light stand and umbrellas. Even the Alien Bees would be a better choice, although they are more expensive than the Excaliburs.

I have the older version of those lights and they are just fine. They are very basic and flimsy but for the price, they are great. Maybe these new lights are better than the old ones.

IMO, if I had to do it all over again, I'd get a set of These
As was stated in the previous thread, the backgrounds are all but useless, and you can get the same quality (or better) with a couple of twin top sheets from walmart.

I got the two 160 w/s Impact lighting kit with softboxes. I'm very happy with them. I'll likely add a third monolight in the future.
I'm thinking the third light will be one of the SP Systems Excaliburs since they can run on DC power if I need one in the field.
