Well, I got my shot in. Some of the best frames could have done with a bit of a crop (damn viewfinder not covering the frame), but I like the shot I put in.

I just went out and took a heap of shots
Got home and realized I had my camera set on RAW
Oh well good practice
Just have to go out and do it all again

Just make sure the naked bits are in frame and what difference does the rest make really.

This challenge is under the minimal editing ruleset - see the main forums page - RAW isn't allowed.

I don't suppose putting forth a minimal amount of effort will be rewarded by the voters?

Rewards are not always good, I understand.

Anyone think I'll get busted for rotating my image 360 degrees?

Of course.

But don't attempt 720, we would get dizzy.

I'll keep that in mind :-)

Anyway, I find I am doing more edits on a minimum editing challenge than I do on basic. Of course, this time I basically start from scratch with each edit :-)

Going back in time with names? I like it. Stability above all else :)

Canon Raws have an embedded JPEG that should be good enough for the challenge. You just need a program to extract it. Breezebrowser does it, as do others.

I use Breezebrowser but have never used that feature. It says it will store the EXIF and time stamp info to the JPG that it extracts but would that be considered an original for DPC purposes? I just wonder if doing that way may give off the impression it was altered and thus viewed as being tampered with.

no wonder i could never find the JPEG files and why i couldn't figure out how to capture just a RAW file...

You could probably send us the RAW+JPEG as the original if the extracted JPEG is insufficient.

With the Rebel XT, yes you can set RAW+JPEG-L. But, with the original Rebel, the JPEG has to be extracted from the CRW RAW file.

I have my doubts though that an extracted JPEG would pass validation. I suppose someone could send an extracted file to SC to see if it would pass.

Ok I am in. Anyone else find it funny that the file size can be larger (200k) in a minimalism challenge? :)

Makes sense to me, 720 pixels + 200 Kb works for an image where the "subject" is supposed to take up only a small portion of the frame...

Mine weighs in at a whopping 124kb.
