I was wondering how much, or how little, you need to do to a photograph to lose its EXIF data.

I've been publishing some images to PBase and notice that some display the data while others do not.

Is it a case that so many Save As... destroys it or what?

Any help gratefully received.

Cheers

I don't think "save as" strips out the EXIF data, but "save for web" in PS certainly does.

Paint Shop Pro, at least in the newer versions, gives you the option to include it or not when you use Save As.

Some photogs particularly DON'T want the EXIF included in stuff they post.

I'm pretty sure, that save for web allows you to include the data, but you do have to select the option.

Thanks for the commnets. I hadn't realised that 'Save for web...' was so destructive!

It's only destructive if you tell it to be. ;o)

If you're talking about CS2, I'd sure like to know how to change that option. I've never found anything like that.

Me thinks that the confusion is the option to include the profile or not, not the EXIF.

We learn something new every day.
