I'll spare you the 40 year history of the Saints but tonight this city is hopping. The country has got to be pulling for this team.

Rock and Roll boys....

Yeah baby.

Can't help but to bump this up.

Except for people in the Chicago area, you guys have to pull with me for my team the Saints ! Check the dismal history of this team....we have been horrible!

For this team to go from ZERO home games last year and a 3-13 season to a chance to play and win the Superbowl is a huge story.

...please don't pull against me !

My son, who is 5, is becoming a big football fan. Doesn't matter who, or against whom, he just likes football. For Christmas he told us he wanted a Salt-n-Peppers jersey (that would Julius Peppers from the Panthers -- took me a while to figure it out) and a "Shucks" helmet.

Who the heck are the shucks? Finally, a couple of weeks ago, we were at my moms and the shucks, I mean saints were playing. He got all excited and said, "Mom, Dad, look it's the Shucks. They're on TV." The little fleur de lis (I think that's right, but my most recent French class was like 20 years ago) on their helmets looks like a corn shuck to him.

Go Shucks?

(I think there might be a redneck joke in there somewhere).

Thanks for the story!

It will be unmatched in sporting history if a team with a "FLOWER" on their helment wins the superbowl!

WhoDat have a flower on their hat?

Ha! Same thing with my 6 y/o. All he wanted was a Patriots helmet (he already has a jersey) and some shoulder pads.

My son has a "play" Green Bay Packers uniform. . For Christmas, he wanted a set of "real" shoulder pads. He didn't get them for Christmas, but he did get them for his birthday last week. The GB jersey won't fit over the pads, and he has about outgrown the pants, but he still plays with teh helmet. So, my husband gave him a GB shirt to wear with it.

When he is finally old enough to play little league football, I'm afraid he will be too big. He's like almost 4 feet tall, 75 pounds, and 5 years old. He won't be allowed to play until fall 2008.

Oh yea, my sister is getting him the salt n pepper jersey. :) It matches his Carolina football.

Well I think of the Saints like the Broncos of old. They will make it to the super bowl and loose by 40 to whomever plays them. So it is a mixed blessing. AFC wins again this year.

Get the Saints in the Superbowl against the Colts. The story is too big. Payton is a New Orleans resident and along with his dad and brother, they are celebrities here.

Come superbowl, the fans here will be on a mad rampage againts the Mannings.

I'd call it "even" in the pre-game and predict a close game between the Saints and the Colts.
