Hey! Has anybody ever had a service estimate go down? :) The final tally was $432.32, covered by insurance.
Looks like this is what they had to say:
NO POWER. LIQUID DAMAGE. REPLACE LPU PCB ASS'Y AND DC/DC PCB. REPAIR TO GOOD WORKING ORDER. PLEASE RESPOND TO ESTIMATE.
I gave them the goahead and if I can read between the lines it sounds like it's already repaired. The send it back overnight so I'm holding out hope that I will have it in time to destroy again on my backpacking trip on Washington Coast on the 19th. :)

I like a story with a happy ending. Maybe the rest of the month will be happier, safer, and less eventful. I look forward to seeing the Washington Coast in your profile.

Hey! Just to update, I picked my baby up from FedEx yesterday evening and promptly slipped in the snow and dropped it.
Just kidding.
She's workin' fine and begging me to take her on my backpacking trip this weekend where there is a 90% chance of rain on Friday dropping to 40% on Sunday.
Woo hoo! |

Shall we start a pool as to when it has to go back into the shop for repairs again?
I will take 4 weeks out.

Man, you are cruisin'. Wrap it in bubble wrap, when you want to take a photo, get a 24hr weather forecast, and if they even mention rain, run and hide until it is long gone. Don't try taking pictures of bubbles as it sinks into another pond. Be careful out there, it bites back! |
