But, YIKES, I've been asked for validation on my Battle of the Sexes. |
Fantatic, Julianne! Go get that personal best. :) Your Procrastination entry should've gotten that score.
Don't worry about the validation request. It doesn't mean you did something wrong, just that someone couldn't imagine how you did what you did. Sometimes I request validation and then when it's validated, I'm even more impressed.
I just got one for Motion Panning. I desaturated some stuff using global settings, but many people don't know that:
a) changing colors is legal as long as you do it across the whole photo without making any selections and
b) you can desaturate certain colors, even globally, and still get reasonable skin tones
Hence, a validation request.

Umm....do I have to take mine apart or are they a done deal?
And do I have to comment further if I made comments during the challenge?
I realize I don't have to do any of this, just wanna know what's the suggested method historically.

And yes, Jeb, the weekly "Momentary Lapser of Suckiness" must go forth and comment on other Team Suck members' photographs. Usually it's from the challenges and Mary kindly posts them to make it easier. Other Team Suck members, even if they did just routinely suck that week, often comment on shots as well. And since you REALLY didn't suck, you can always pick stuff from portfolios, too. |

Darn it, mist, you went and ruined my perfectly good 'til now No Comments in a Challenge run!
I think you kinda liked it but weren't really entirely sure.

Ahah! I knew my random scattergun approach to commenting would get you :p
It could have been any of many. I've commented on a few so far that had me thinking "hmm, interesting" but I wasn't entirely sure about.

Depends if the comments are pro or con.
On an unrelated note, I have finished voting on motion panning now, and really felt that the overall quality of the shots was a little below par. Maybe I've been spoilt with all the free studys and stuff lately. |

I was a little generous on scoring, a lot have not used panning before and it does take practice. I was impressed with some, but there was confusion between motion blur and motion panning. |

@ Mist,
I have to agree on the Motion Panning, To my mind there is one photo that is destined for a Ribbon but the rest are just not right, maybe its a new year hang over or something. |

I saw two shots that I thought were light years ahead of the others. Time will tell if the rest of the voters agreed ;) |

I would like to apologise for not participating in the recent challenges. the best of 2006 is the last one I entered so far. I will be in the free study and I am really looking forward to expert editing challenges if they ever make more of those.
I just don't feel like entering challenges these days, sorry for that.
my b&w sucked alot though so maybe it can be a compensation?:)
Doug lonewolf hasn't answer me if he's still in the team or not. so maybe we have an open place? |

maybe we could wait a bit more? I know he has a busy time. I don't know the rules though, maybe someone who doesn't participate a lot can be replaced? |

I gotta take a break......Deb, your Song Title entry cracked me up.
I stated that it's a stellar example of why you're the OOBer-Queen.
People? Nickname for Deb????? OOBer-Queen????
Pronounced über-Queen?????
I have to finish vacuuming, make some dinner, finish retting up the kitchen, change the kitty boxes, and go to a church meeting.
I stayed up past two last night so I'm dragging.
I need some sleep before I comment more.

Man, when did we get to a place where we had rules about who could participate, how often they had to, etc.?

posthumous can sort it out.
We have on the waiting list kashi, cosprenks (a recipe is due), and Brookied.
It seems reasonable to put people out on a standby list that are not participating and bring in new people to try out.

I've just done voting on the panning thing. I - er - panned out on something like 6 for a shot that had a moving subject caught against a movement-blurred background, 5 for a blurred subject or lack of panning effect. A few sevens and one eight - I'll hopefully be back for fine-tuning. One or two shots just cried out for recognition in spite of the criteria I mentioned.

But if they turn out to be good, can we sell them?

I know. I thought the team suck mentality was a little more easy-going than that. |

All of the teams seem to have the same number of members at the moment.
Team suck's popularity is high.
I'm sure we can include an extra person in some way. |
Lonewolf looks to be AWOL. How about joining Team Chasing Butterflies? |
yes please, waiting for your essay:)
I'll write lonewolf now and ask him if he's still there. I mean here.
hi Lea! nice to see you:)
