Are these filters legal under the current rules. I see dust and scratch is mentioned in the rules. Does anyone have a definitive answer?

I certainly hope so, as I despeckle almost every shot I take. :-> I figured they were because the effect is applied to the picture as a whole, not to a selected region.

That's my thinking too, but just wanted to know forsure.

Despeckle would surely fall under "reduce the effects of noise" in allowable filters.

Despeckle was specifically allowed under the old rules, so that SHOULD be safe. I would not use the Median filter without a specific advisory from the site admins.
