Hi all,
I am just looking for some technical help here. I contribute to many mags and papers all over the world but am recently having problems sending my pictures to Australian papers. My attached pictures on my email arrive at the paper as a bitmap - Which means the desk has to take time converting them etc - When they are converted they seem to not be able to see all my picture captions etc. They are the only publications I have problems with. I use a Mac and they use PC (Although a lot of other places use PC also and have no problems) I send PC friendly attachments but I have no idea what is happening. I think it may be something at their end? Any one with any suggestions etc would be most welcome. All my pics are jpegs by the way.
Cheers
Jeff

Sounds like it is on their end. You might consider zipping the files before you send them.

I have never zipped a set of pictures before - How is it done?

Most often with WinZip. Drag and drop simple.

On a Mac, I honestly don't know... I'm sure some Mac guru will be around to answer your question.

From Apple...

"Control-click on the file and choose Create Archive (which is Apple-speak for âmake a compressed ZIP fileâ). Or you can click on a file, then go to the Action menu (the button that looks like a gear up in the Finder windowâs toolbar), and choose Create Archive from there."

EDIT: Assumes OS X
