you really don't like animation over the buttons that much? I have removed all the sounds and all the animation and I could have made it all in dreamweaver as well: there's no movement left at all.

People are going to come for the photography not the sounds when they hover over something or to watch a curtain come down over a thumbnail. Unless I've missed the point of the site.
