Just wanted to announce that my son is headed toward the sand pit on Jan. 26th for a 14 month deployment. He is not afraid, nor am I. I am just proud and wanted to say thank you to everyone for your support of him and myself during his bootcamp training, now he gets to put it to use. The support from you guys was truely astounding and I am proud to be a part of this community.

I am not sure what details I am allowed to give out concerning his location and unit, so I will leave it at this.

If you would like to send him your well wishes, his email is:

Lance Corporal Cory M.Smith-fetor41@hotmail.com or Fetor

Awe, Kel, I know your nervous for him. Think positive thoughts and be very very proud of him for the work he is doing. Thanks for his email, perhaps we can spam him with funny pictures to keep his spirits up! :)

Kelly,

Will he get to visit home before being deployed? I hope the 14 months fly by for you both. I don't blame you for being proud. :) I hope he gets to hug his proud mama before taking off!

Hi Jo-

I am going to see him on the 19th for 2 days on his base. He was home over Thanksgiving for 5 days. We are all set.

Thanks for your concern.

Wish him all the best from over the pond in UK. It only seems a couple of months ago that he was setting off for training as a new recruit. Be proud of him.

Here's to a speedy and safe return.
