Just so everyone knows I'm changing my real name from Leah to LC (on the site anyway). I've never liked my name and I think LC Banks just looks more artsy fartsy :) |

Although my Best Of score has been falling (down to 6.1799), I've two faves, which makes me happy!
levyj413 interesting story about NSA interview! I never got that far, but boy did they keep calling and e-mailing me. They must really need employees! |

They kinda signify that yeah, you may end up using arms, using force, and having either or both used against you. That's the deal. The vast majority do understand this and accept it. As with any large group of people, you will have those that don't or change their mind when push comes to shove. That's normal, but they do get the most air time.

Hey Deb, I couldn't agree more. When you join the military, you have to know that there are risks involved. I was in the Navy during the end of the Vietnam war.
I think what irritates me the most though is that the vast majority of the people that support the war are not in the miltary, have never been in the military, and will never be in the military because of the fact that they could die. My opinion is that talk is cheap if you're not willing to put your life on the line. If a person thinks that attacking Iraq was the right thing to do, then there's a way to back up their belief. Their body can stop a bullet just as well as the soldiers that are currently over there.
One thing that I DON'T want to see is the reinstatement of the draft. Why, because both of our children are of that magical age, neither of which support this war. However, if the draft was reinstated, you would see many of the children of the loyal Bush supporters headed off to war and for that reason alone, I think the end of the war would not be far off.
Deb, please don't think this little rant has anything to do with what you said. It just looked like an opening to throw my $.01 worth in.
I don't think that I'm quite up to two cents worth yet. |

Bob, I think this makes you more qualified than most to throw in your .02, as you've actually served and presumably seen combat.
BTW - Team, I'm sorry. I think I was the one who got us on this topic to start with, when I mentioned last night on the *mothership* (this thread) that I posted on one of the rant threads.

Crap, I've been pronouncing all these names wrong in my mind. I thought yours was Mel-ee-thee-uh, Deb!
Mine means "stray cat" in Japanese. It's pronounced Noh-rah-neck-oh.
Bob, how about your last name? Is it mar-toosh? |

Yesterday I bought a new lens. Well, it was a used lens at a local photography shop. I decided to try out a Manual focus lens that was originally for an old film camera. I got it for $65.00. It's a 28-70 zoom.
I had to go back to focusing manually and guessing at the exposure but that's what had to be done in the film days, so it wasn't all that foreign.
Naturally, like a kid with a new toy, I had to go and play with it today. Here is one of the shots. Yes, that's right, this is Michigan and there's no snow. As you can tell, I'm totally heart broken.

Believe it or not, from an online name generator quite some time ago. I needed something for a hotmail account and "deb" obviously was taken.
Most people do pronounce it Mel-EE-thia, so I should probably just go with that. Or you can prounounce it "Deb". That works, too. |

Personally, I've always read it as Mel-eh-thee-a. I guess I am not most people ;) |

I have 43 comments on my B&W and not one from anyone on Team Suck.
You guys are NEVER going to hear the end of this when the challenge is over!
