Got a new lens in the mail yesterday and have taken a few shots to try it out. Think this one is going to get a lot of use, especially for animal portraits and macros. Still need to try it out on a landscape photo but the weather isn't cooperating today.

Another test ... really happy with this one, even if I was a bonehead about resetting my ISO after some playing last night (sigh):

Good choice for a zoom. My most used lens is a wide to 70mm zoom. New hardware is always a thrill.
I see that no one has rated that lens yet, maybe you could write one after using it a while.

Ah - one of the greatest values for the dollar out there.
Mine lives on my camera about 90% of the time as my lens of choice.

Good to know other people are happy with it. I liked the pictures I saw here taken with it and found an irresistable deal on eBay. So far, so good. |

Nice shots.
I would love to replace my kit lens with a 28-75mm f/2.8 someday. |

Good call. I bought this lens about five weeks ago and am very pleased, it rarely leaves my D80. And guess what I sold in order to get this lens and the Nikon 85 f1.8? The Holy Grail, the Grand Poobah, the Mother of All that is right with the World, (not a Red Rider Lever Action Air Rifle), but the Nikon 18-200VR! Yep, the most over rated product in the history of internet babel. I wouldn't trade my Tamron for two 18-200s and a Ken Rockwell autographed print. |

Look forward to seeing some of your work with this lens, I should have bagged the the 85 lens, eBayed the D80, and got the D200. |
