I've just uploaded a new website. It has lived the last few months with a single page titled "Under Construction", so Google has this cached in as the title of the link which leads to the newly uploaded, differently titled, site.

Dumb question, but I'm asking it anyway:

Is there a way to immediately update this so at least the proper title will show on Google?

What are you using to build the site? Most site builder software will let you set the 'page info'.

I don't think so. I think you just gotta wait until the next crawl.

Ya gotta wait on Google to re-index, I'm pretty sure. Don't know what their cycle currently is, but it was 2-3 months for a while.

Submitting a sitemap can speed things up quite well.

Thanks folks, and for the link mk (which I'd gone through previously).

This is what I suspected. I wanted to poll the brain-trust just in case.
:-)

I'll have to be goaded into submitting a sitemap or anything.
