Okay quick question...which photo should I enter in B/w portrait... a good shot with good technicals, but less wow factor....or a good shot with decent technicals, but good wow factor???

haha..I did use photoshop..

I guess I should say that the technicals aren't as good as the first one. They aren't bad, they just aren't as good as the first one.

I guess you have to look at both and think "how would I rate them in a challenge" but remember that voters tend to be very exigent in the technical part...

My roommate liked the one i thought had less wow factor. And seeing that the wow factor in the other one should have grabbed him and didn't...I went with his choice....(that and the last time he chose a photo I finished in the top 25%)

Wow! We got a quiet team this week! How are you guys doing in your challenges? Better than me I hope... My "Procrastination" is sitting at 5.2909, which I expected. I don't even like the photo and it was a last minute thing. I am still scratching my head on my low score on B&W portrait... It is sitting at 5.1445 and I was expecting it to do much better. Compared to a lot of the useless entries in there, it should rate better. But yeah... Some are rpetty amazing! I wish more people would leave comment saying why they don't like it... How can I improve if I don't know what's wrong? I reworked my entry last night and got it looking much better already, but I am still not getting anywhere as good as what

Gaby_G can achieve...

How are you guys doing so far?

My procrastination is in the tank at 4.4XX. I'll start a thread after the challenge to tell people why I entered it and then try to get comments after the fact, to see if my idea hit home.

My B/w Portrait is doing worse than I thought. Although it crept up by .5 since the start of the challenge, I really expected it to do better. It's at 4.9xx. The good news is that there are 6 comments and they all say pretty much the same thing (I would tell, but it might give my photo away). But the thing they commented on was something that i didn't think would cause the low score or even cause a problem, I thought it actually added to the photo.

My Best of 2006 was an emotional evoked photo, so score doesn't really matter to me and it's at a 5.2XX, which I believe will creep up to at least a 5.5 by the end of the challenge.

MMMM... I think I am doing ok... My B&W is in the low 6, as my Best of 2006... Happy with the B&W (wich is not ribbon territory at all but with the scores that people has been posting it may be a top 30 :P)... But I am just a little Â¿sad? about my Best of, since I am thinking I chose the wrong picture of two I had for the challenge...

I'm sure hoping that my procrastination score climbs to a 6 ... and still have hope that the B/W portrait score will hit a 5.5 ...

my computer is down (using my work laptop) so I didn't enter the Best of 2006 onaccounta I couldn't get to my photos :( ... should be back up and running by early next week though ... waiting for Dell to send me some parts ...

don't get me started ... it's been over 2 weeks now ... and this will be the 4th shipment they've sent ... they can't seem to figure out what is wrong ... total frustration has set in on my part because I had a photo that I wanted to enter ... and now it's too late ...

I'm excited ... got a new personal best in the 'procrastination' challenge and finished in 18th place ... I had a really busy weekend and never got a chance to submit an entry for 'battle of the sexes' but I'll have my entry for matches ready today ...

my "match" entry is tanking at the moment ... only 5.0 ... I had higher hopes for it than that ... but the week is young, so we'll see!

Hmm.. sorry :P I didn`t made the count for the week of the Patterns challenge since I was not home :P, anyway, I am just checking at the average to see how would we do, WPL hasnt started yet.. And then, also remember that only the 4 higher scores of the team get to count.

I didn`t submit for this weeks challenges, I took the pictures for Battle of the sexes and Match, but I didnt uploaded :P I just wasnt convinced with them... But once the WPL starts I`ll submit "just in case" the team needs a fourth score.
