I had always read other's comments on an image before commenting, and felt like that helped me view images more openly.
Today, I've been NOT reading other's comments until after making my own, and it has helped me to pay more attention to the finer details. I'm also enjoying the wait... delayed gratification maybe?
Anyway, which way do you comment, or do you even bother with other's input? Why, or why not? Please share... |

Commenting first without reading any other comments posted for an image is usually the way I go. Regardless of willpower, it's hard not to let the other comments influence your perception of the photo.
You can read afterwards, then if something strikes you that you missed, etc...you can edit your comments and update if you want.
I find it fun to compare what I've thought about a photo and to see what others had to say as well afterwards (especially on challenge entries). |

Most of my commenting is done on challenge images during voting so other's comments aren't visible.
In other cases, I try not to let other's views influence what I am seeing. |

I like to comment first then read what everyone else has said -- but I can't tell you the number of times that I've made a comment only to find out afterwards that it was ridiculously redundant to one or more other people's comments -- so sometimes I like to see what others have said, not to influence what I write -- but so at least if we're all in agreement about the photo I can try to say it in a different way :)

Usually I write the comment and then scroll down to read what others have said - at this point I decide not to press post! |

Usually I write the comment before reading - but read before pressing post. I see no point in repeating what others might have said several times before me... |
