I Have noticed and watched the position of photos to how I voted in relation to the details of the challenge, and watched comments on photos to see if they are in relation to the details required for the challenge. most comments do not relate to the photo meeting the challenge but for different tastes and not what the photographer has entered the photo in a specific challenge for.
or the title saying what the photo should. |

I'm currently voting on "Tropical Settings". All of these images are DNMC... |

What I am trying to say is the voting is not relating to what the photo was entered for, by meeting the challenge details. But the photo is being voted on + or - regardless.
To help I have a photo in a current challenge voting very low, yet not one comment has said DNMC, the photo is of good quality.

the main thing i vote on is whether or not i like the photo and by how much. Aslong as it fits the challenge that's all i need. I don't vote by how much it meets the challenge, if that's what you mean.

I am new to DP so excuse my ignorance but it would unfair to give a vote to a picture that dosent somewhat adhere to the challenge theme as others at the end of that challenge might never even get viewed, they could even have been better shots with the right theme, and the only way to stop it happening is not to vote for ones that don't try to get close to the theme.

If you are saying do not vote on the shots that do not meet the challenge then please read the rules...

What I mean is that if a challenge has alot of enteries, like one I voted on tonight had 300 of which I voted on about 50% there would have been at least 30% of photos I did'nt get to see because there were so far down, I might have liked some of them better. Just my view though I know we are meant to keep a lighthearted view of things, I just feel thats it is unfair to photos close to the end. Regards

By the way, we all get the challenge entries in different random order, so while you may not see all the entries if you can't vote all of them, someone does - the ones at the end aren't the same for everyone, if that makes sense. |

it sounds like you're saying if we don't vote on at least 100% not all the pics will get voted on...all the images are shown to people in complete random order, all images get about the same amount of votes. Has nothing to do with meeting the challenge or not.
eta: I'm slow :) And more to the OP, when I vote (which I'm sorry isn't that often anymore) I give an automatic 5 for meeting the challenge details, a point less the harder I have to see the connection between the challenge and the image. All other points are added on depending on how well I think you executed the image, (colors, brightness, sharp/blurry, etc). Everyone does it different, and some even go back and re-adjust certain scores after a second look.
