Anyone have any idea where I might get a part for my Nikon Lens
It is a Nikon AF-S DX 18-55 lens which has broken lock tabs on the base plate.
I have contacted Nikons parent company as well as the NZ branch and all they would do was tell me to contact a Nz supplier. Did this and they wont supply the part as they would rather I sent the lens to them for repair. Given that the job is a small one and they are already quoting exorbitent prices just for the part I am reluctant to do this

Not sure about parts or that specific lens but I sometimes see dead lenses on ebay - maybe buy a dead one to steal the parts off if one is floating around.
