Yeah you heard me a barbeque or cook out themed challenge. That was cook out not cook off BTW. Very strick rules too of course....no spot editting. You want prettier grill marks on your burgers, you gonna have to paint them on.
But seriously, the season is upon us. Just a suggestion.
Gotta run I think my burgers are burning.

This'd make a neat 4th-of-July week topic.
Of course, first I have to replace my grill. |

One thing to bear in mind:
The season is only upon those of us in the northern hemisphere. Australia and New Zealand are surprisingly well-represented on this site.

Here's a bit of a spinoff to your idea, how about we have a challenge that requires us to photograph our favourite dish/drink. In the description box we put the recipe so everyone can share. This way it doesn't have to be summer time (as it isn't in NZ,australia) but those of us that are in the mood for a big BBQ and need an excuse, this is perfect! |

That's good for us Canadians too seeing as though Canada Day is July 1st. Of course, no offence intended to anyone in the other hemisphere or any other countries. :)

I'm glad I re-read the original post -- I was trying to figure out how you were going to run a Barbecue challenge and not allow spit-editing.
I'm surprised you haven't been roasted yet by the vegan contingent; maybe your explicit title was warning enough .... |

You could always roast zucchini and peppers and call that a BBQ |

I'm not vegetarian but can cook all kinds of stuff ... and I've seen plenty of books and shows demonstrating that ANYTHING can be cooked on a grill.
I was more worried about the flak from people who will object to looking at pictures of cooked animals for two weeks .... |

Oh no, have I opened another can of worms? Bad choice of words. Please no pictures of roasted worms...er at least not unless it is part of your culture. Just trying to lighten the mood around here. With so many comedians out of work, their union will soon be on my back....lol.

I will look for the recipe for grilled squash blossoms.
Does anyone dare suggest the "pet o' the week" entry?

Oops, like someone else earlier, I misread this post. I thought you were asking about the neighbor's kids peeing over the fence!

....peeing over the fence right into the barby, with steam flying everywhere. Not a pretty picture. No pun intended. Isn't this how rumours used to get started in the days before the Internet?
