.? And speaking of istock, are you dismbuguating your keywords, or tags, or whatever they decide to call it these days? .

What is this and how do u do it?

If you go to your account and click on 'my uploads' there is a new column call "Disambiguation" which for each photo will say "auto" or "manual". Auto probably isnt as clear, so its best to go through these again and sort them out! Bit of a pain, but I'm just doing a couple a day. ...

Ok. I took a look at my images at iStock to check out this "Disambiguation" thing. Most of my older ones say "Auto" in that column, the newer ones say "Manual". I clicked "Manual" on one, it opened the image, I looked at the keywords and categories, and everything seems fine. Do I need to actually DO something?

I went thru all of my images and manually did them.

Manually did WHAT? I looked, and the information seems correct. Is there something that needs to be done to each image if the keywords and categories appear to be fine?

Thanks for the response. :D

Shutterstock is now authorizing photos in around 6 hours which has impressed me.

Not much downloads recently mainly because I have not uploaded much. No Christmas or people pictures on any of my stock sites so that kills the downloads.

You need to check the "Auto" files. That means their system placed the tags as it thinks it should be, which is always wrong :-)

Hi all

So...which site seems to be the best stock photo site in terms of ease of use, payment etc.?

In most cases, but not always, depends on your portfolio.

take a look at //www.perrush.be/SYF_micro_E_7.html where I compared the earnings of some sites.

That looks like a lot of work went into writing the article. For keywording, you might want to add that Adobe Bridge enables you to do it in batches, but not that nicely IMO and I am searching for a cheap (possibly free) way of adding keywords faster than having to build a library and then select. You might also try iTag (//www.itagsoftware.awswa.com/) but that only lets you tag jpeg files (not raw) and there is an extra step of having to import them into the software which can take a while if you have hundreds to do.

Otherwise a nice introductory article.
