Well, I did something pretty stupid. I was playing around with figuring out RAW images last week and forgot that I left my camera set on RAW when I took some Christmas photos for some friends. Now I have NO IDEA how to get them to JPEG images so that I can open them up in Photoshop. I have the Digital Photography Professional software that came with my Canon Rebel XT, but it doesn't seem to be working or at least I don't know what i'm doing! When I try to open up the files in the software it says "insufficient memory...cannot open file"...what does that mean?? Hope someone can help!! Thanks!

What version of Photoshop are you using? The last several versions support RAW files. You may need to download the latest RAW definitions from Adobe.

When I try to just open the files in Photoshop it says it can't complete my request because it's not the right kind of document.

Go to the Adobe website and download the latest Camera Raw Update. Follow the intructions on how to install it. You should now be able to open your RAW files in CS2. They will open wit Adobe Camera Raw and you'll make adjustments and then hit "Open" to convert. From there, edit as normal and save as a JPEG or whatever you like.

Alternatively, your camera also shipped with "EOS Viewer Utility"; that's a nifty bare bones, intuitive RAW processor. Install it, open the first image and process it as you wish. Note the settings, close the image, and select all in the thumbnail screen, then apply those settings to the tool panel, then click on the save file icon, specify a subdirectory to store the images, specify JPG, and hit OK; they'll all be saved as JPG files to that directory.
