For all you Canon people out there, after much speculation the Canon G5 was officially announced today...

I'm gonna persuade my brother to get one...he'd like a rangefinder-style camera with the ability to generate large prints. I think it'd be perfect. |

Last week i read the rumors and speculations about this G5 on a Dutch photography site. It really isn't all that much different from the G3. It has 5 megapixels instead of 4. It has a black body but other than that the body is exactly like the G3. The official price, initially, of $ 900 seems high.

I would tend to agree with you J, I read through the brief and thought that they have taken the G3 added the new 5mp CCD and made it a bit more power efficient, Otherwise it is almost the same as the G3 for a lot more money!!
