I apologize if this is covered somewhere in detail but I'm new to this site and haven't found it yet. On another site, I saw a long dissertation about the evils of not getting releases. I understand the need for getting releases from models and/or people with a pre- arranged session. I don't understand why there would be such restrictions on photos taken in public places (i.e. sporting events, parks, etc.) Does every photographer get releases before selling action pictures of athletes (and what about the clearly visible cheerleader in the background?) Don't mean to rant just wanted some input...a legal type website would be nice but opinions are certainly welcomed. |
