| Awww, how sweet, Judy! I plan to unpack. And learn which things need transformers and which don't. And learn where to shop for what, and how long it'll take me by bike to get to either Wiesbaden or Mainz for those times when I want to go into "the city". I'm hoping it doesn't actually snow until I get snow tires on my bike. :-) |

| My holiday plans are to become as inert as humanly possible without actually going comatose. I suppose I'll also have to visit family. :) |

I volunteered to work Christmas day and New Years (midnights) since I am new to Alaska and do not have family visiting, or a lot of folks I know yet. The people who were scheduled to work loved my offering to work for them as this gave them back a holiday to spend with their young children.
I'll be celebrating the new year with on of the guys from work when we go out on the 2nd, as he is working New Years eve midnights. |

Since we have oh, soooo much family in town, we have Christmas "stuff" for several days with different segments of the families. It's a blessing, but exhausting. Then I'm off work for the whole week between Christmas and New Year's. Yayyyyyy!

| I'm going to put several hundred miles on our SUV. We'll be visiting relatives three hours away on Christmas Eve, come home, get up the next morning for a relaxing Christmas morning at home, then we'll be off for another hour drive to more relatives for Christmas afternoon/evening, then again home later that night. |

Christmas Eve morning - go to my grandmother's and make alot of buffet style foods (meatballs, roll lunchmeat, chop veggies, make dips, etc.) Home to pick up family, back to grandmother's to referee all the feuding extended family members. Sort and pass out gifts, try to get people to leave by 11PM. Home by 12 or 1AM. Hubby will go to sleep before kid, so play santa. Bed by about 2AM. Up at the crack of dawn with kids xmas morning. Watch open gifts, make breakfast, clean up. Throw clothes on, run to grandmother's to throw giant turkey in oven. Home again. Back to grandmother's to make all the other junk to go with dinner. Sit and watch extended family make hogs of themselves because I'm too exhausted to eat. Clean up. Home by 10PM. Fall into bed.
All this week I'll be making my xmas gifts for family members. I give baked goods. Sometimes I hate the holidays. It's all very stressful. Sometimes I also think I should grow some balls and tell everyone how I feel and refuse to do it anymore. But that would just make things hard for my grandmother, so I know I never will.
edit: spelling
