Did the battery have a label on it? I bought some generics for my 300D and they had a label on the side, when put in the battery grip, they were near impossible to get out. After I removed the label, they just slid in and out a treat.

maybe the problem isn't the battery, perhaps it's your Camera. Damn cheap 5D and it's tiny battery slot! :P

FWIW, there a new glue on the market called Perfect Glue (my company designed the packaging for them).

Former Home Depot cross-merchandiser here.

Any idea how tough it is to sock a sidecap with those things?
Sells well though! :)

Note that I said my company designed them, not me personally. ;-)

Very amusing?

resurrecting this thread so others know that these batteries are a bad fit. I just got one stuck in my 5D too. My husband ordered them so I had no idea what brand they were or if there were any known problems. but after getting one stuck in my camera about 10 mins ago and getting it out with a butterknife.(yup, a butterknife inside and against my camera ::shudder::) I searched the threads to see if it's been mentioned and lo and behold it has. so just a very belated bump in case anyone else is concidering buying these. the savings isn't worth it.

Ha, I just got a sterlingtek battery stuck as well! Thanks to everyone who has been posting about their experiences, the first thing I did after the battery got stuck was to start searching the web and this thread came up.

The needle nose pliers didn't work for me, and I really didn't want to hot glue string onto my battery so instead I did the following:

Get some double-sided sticky foam tape (3M makes it) and stick the end of your CANON battery onto the end of the stuck Sterlingtek battery. You should now be able to pull it out. Once it's out, leave it attached and do the shaving fix that was linked earlier. You can now check the fit of battery and pull it out if it gets stuck again.

Thanks again! Information is POWER! ;)

Melusine, exactly what did you get your battery stuck in? It shows you have no camera.
