I'm trying to book a flight on American Airlines' website. I chose some dates using the Advantage Award menu. I then chose the flights and the total comes to $20! It says the flight is 50,000 miles/person and the total is $10/person. The thing is, I don't have anywhere near 100,000 miles. Last year when I was booking my flight to Colorado the same thing happened. I found a flight and it said I owed $20. I was too afraid to actually go for it for fear that I'd get to the airport and I wouldn't really have a flight afterall.

Anyone ever use the AA website and their miles? Is this a glitch in my favor or am I completely missing something here?

I'd imagine that once you got the the final check out screen they'd tell you how much you owed them for the 100k miles that you are also purchasing... Just a guess though.
