This is their only really weak spot according to what I read. I'm a Nikonians member and the rumors over there are very good a predicting Nikon actions. I agree with another poster here that by the end of 2007 at least the story will be written. Matters not though, most of us won't be able to afford the body.

thank ou Fir3bird and Siggav!
that's what I wanted to hear:) I really would rather spend much money on other exciting things:)...
I just felt some kind of a pressure on me from all those 10- 12- and more-Mpxl reviews, how cool they are. I know it's markieting, but it affected me. |

I have a d50 now - "a beginner's dslr" as they call it.
are 6 mpxl really not bad? I look at others photos and at mine - I miss a lot: my photos are not sharp enough, not bright enough, not "clear" enough. I was quite comfortable with the idea that it's my camera that is not perfect:) |
D50
Look at the above url. Do they look sharp, bright, or clear? Camera 5% of the equation, lens 10% of the equation, and guess who fills in the rest. For the purposes of making images on this site you've got plenty camera. |
I agree with you 95%.
A better camera, however, have more features that
allow you to touch up your photo ( esp. in RAW format )
within the camera itself. It comes in handy if you don't have
a computer around or when you're entering a contest with basic
editing rules. I've been DQ'd enough times to know...lol |

I think your camrea is plenty good, perhaps invest in one or two more lenses to expand your creativity ? |

Perhaps changing the title from " hold_me " to " Under pressure "
would have solved all the problems. :) |

It's an identified disease called NAS.
Nikon Acquisition Syndrome. I've finally cured myself from it. (yeah right) After looking at your portfolio I agree with the other posters. You'll do just fine here. That's a fine average score for just a few months here. You have a very beautiful model at your beck and call. I imagine living in Oslo you have many old cities and beautiful landscapes to photograph. Have fun.

Really? So you are ready to pay 3-5k for a full-frame camera? Personally, I find the much cheaper 12-24 lens to cover all my wide angle needs and would never consider such an expensive full-frame option. |

You're living in the past. The Canon 5D is already falling in price. With Canon rebates it's now at $2499 and occasionally available for less; by 2008 prices for FF will certainly fall even further. FF is not only about WA, it's also about DoF control, large photosites (low noise, high image acuity), and using the entire image circle of lenses designed and built for that format.
Where Nikon will price 35mm is of course an open question. If they intoduce it only in their pro bodies, then of course $5k, perhaps more is not unrealistic. I think they would be foolish to go that route, but I don't work in marketing for DSLRs.

It took me 2 full years from picking up an S40 P&S and shooting this:
To finally last month getting a "pro" camera D200 and producing some cool stuff. Over the last 6 months once I have decided to do this for real, I have acquired solid lenses, lighting, etc. So Suki is wrong. Good equipment is very very important. It takes us to the next level. But only we know ourselves and when we are ready for the next step. I am a believer in buying better stuff for the long run and growing into it. Plus, don't you always take just a little better care of things that mean something to you? And are expensive?
My point is don't shy away from new, great equipment. But do your due diligence (as you are) and wait until you are ready. And know that in something like photography that blends technicals, art, intangible vision and luck, it always takes time and passion. I have learned 80% of everything I know about photography from DPC, so I wll always promote this community and what it can contribute to a growing phtographer.

Not really. I would be willing to bet if Nikon came out with a FF in the next year it wouldn't be under $3K.
I'd rather spend 500-1000k on a lens to use on my D70s or D200 than buy that or even consider switching brands and then have to re-acquire all my equivalent lenses.

Unlike camera bodies, good glass holds nice resale value, switching brands isn't really costly, if you are planning to upgrade camereas anyway. |

That's true, but I'll take my Nikkor glass any day over that Canon stuff. ;-) |
