| Consider that spending $1000 to get 17- wide is halfway to a full frame camera. Which would equal about 24mm. |

Makes about as much sense as wiping before you poop doesn't it?

Good! Too many people get drawn into the chase for new gear and so spiral out of control. Buy what you want for the equipment you have now. We all want the top camera and gear, but reality kicks in eventually.
I made that mistake last time round and was spending to keep up, bugger the photography as long as I had the latest I could afford. Now I have a good camera, a kit lens and a 28-135 IS that will do for now. But the little bug still niggles. Learn to use what you have, adapt and when the time is right, advance. |

I figure if I decide to move up to Full-frame in the future, I will sell my EFS lenses with my crop-sensor cameras - and use the funds to advance my equipment -- so its not a lost investment and its a great lens to work with what I have. Just playing around with it in my office and so far, no complaints! With the IS, I just handheld a 1 second shot without wiggle! :D

Great, I'm pleased you are happy. Know what, today I put the kit lens back on and had great fun. With some sharpening, saturation etc, got some neat images, more than I have had for awhile.
Now, go and enjoy your lens. |

Mmmmmmmmmmm lookie at that bokeh! I took a walk outside and one of my favorite little models was playing in the forest behind my house - she never minds a quick portrait. Lovely glass, I'm in love. :)
