Hey, congratulations! I've had mine now for almost 3 weeks, and I love it! It's great for macros, flowers, night shots ... it's taking me a bit to get used to the colours, they are different than the Fuji's colours. I love the little remote that comes with it. And it has buttons and functions galore, which is wonderful! I think you'll like yours.

I vaguely remember you putting them down for having only 3x optical zoom Pits. But hey, I wish it had 6x too. I was downright shocked by the quality of pics it puts out though. I figured it was just a higher res version of my Olympus C-3000. Boy was I wrong. You're going to be a very happy guy with that cam though. Congrats and good luck with it. You're gonna LOVE it!!

Congrat Kosta! I use my C5050 more than my E-20 because it´s SO good. Check out the s-macro setting, it´s terrific. And the shots often become a little grainy, so I use the following settings in the camera:
Sharpness: -2
Contrast: -2
Saturation: +2
This settings suite my taste best.
The C5050 is the best digital camera I´ve ever had.
Welcome in the team!

I have a Tiffen Megaplus 2x teleconverter for mine. That'll give you 6x zoom if you need it. Of course the drawback is you won't have 4x or 5x without vignetting, but you will have 6x. You can get them at 2filter.com for about $71 or so, plus a 41mm to 43mm lens tube (I don't recall how much those are). I think it was well worth it.
Make sure you get an ample amount of memory. I got a 512M CF. It will take about 180 pics at SHQ. If you do anything in burst mode, you'll need it!! File sizes are generally about 2M-3M, so plan accordingly.
The waiting is the hardest part. Good luck. - B |

I got one of these the week before Labor Day (US), and so far I like it. If you haven't already done so, get a CF card for it - the xD card, like SM, is prone to corruption (already lost one pic on that card). I guess we'll be seeing more people posting shots from these cameras - I posted my first last night.
