Woke up to a 6.15 in Bond this morning. Last night had me at 5.89 so YAY I'm creeping up!!! Still early though and this one seems to be a yo-yo for me. I don't think I'll have anything for life/death. Had an idea but the gray skies of Columbus would not cooperate. Good luck sisters!

YOU? lol...I'm thinking I'd like to hug that 'commenter' just because I chuckled about 100 times yesterday just thinking about the comment. It REALLY does bring a smile and laugh, eh? So maybe it's a good thing.

congrats on bond. I'm deciding I'm just a mediocre score..LOL I can tear up some 4.5-5.2 scores...

as I've said before, win lose or draw I love my team!!!!

i might make it over 5 in bond. i'm not going to get life or death done. my little girl's cold (or whatever) has come back with a vengenance and has settled deep in her chest. Last night, I slept in the bed with her, and a couple of times I woke up to check on her because I thought she was sleeping face down in a pillow (she was on her back or side). Her breathing was that labored.

Needless to say, our afternoon is scheduled to be spent at the doctor's office to make sure it isn't something *worse*.

I laughed so much yesterday over the whole postmodernist stuff....I wrote to my commenter and thanked them BEFORE the challenge ended because they had made me laugh! Maybe I need to thank them again for keeping us all giggling!?!

I have to babysit my blind, special needs nephew tonight so his mommy and daddy can attend a Christmas party :-)... NO CLUE what to enter for life or death....but I'll come up with something unless the couple attending party do not return home in time for me to PP and submit.

on my part, ANYTIME life requires your attention more than DPC stuff, please do it :-) We've no slackers on this team and I trust all of your judgements. PLEASE take care of the things of importance :-) the rest (DPC challenge) falls into place or it doesn't. Either way me still love you long time ;-) I'm a "modernist" (laughs loudly)

okay, saw where just posted 'untouchables' won week 4...congrats to them, still think you ladies on 'femme fetales' did AWESOME!!!

I'm going to self-dq my death shot due to comments left in 'death scores' thread about what shot would would not score well. Somehow I thought there was a rule on DPC not to discuss shots individually or in general that were in 'current challenge' status and being voted on. Person(s) who state "roadkill won't cut it" and "lots of dead leaves, cemeteries...etc etc" (generalizing the statements) perhaps makes some voters feel if they give any of the said shots a good score they are wrong, or stupid, or? for doing so. I do know before comments my score was over a 5 on first 3 votes, after comments it went to low 4s. ANYHOW, ya'll forgive me for self-dq, I'm but a mere tadpole in big ole pond :-) BEST of LUCK to all of you on current submissions.

heck if I know. I know it sounds trite and whinny, BUT, I've always tried to remember, just because I don't understand WHY that person submitted the shot they did doesn't mean I should score it badly, and I know, everyone is not me.

I do know I must be up in 4 hours and things like "judgemental statements" drive me nuts...lol...

I just don't feel it's fair to leave a shot in a challenge that members are saying shouldn't score well, WHILE the challenge is still be voted on. comments like that are for AFTER a challenge ends. Oh heck I hush...this is our happy thread and team thread. I'm very happy to have met all of you and very sorry to be the weak link as I said I'd be from the onset. You gals inspire me more than you can ever know or imagine. Love to all, S

Sonya, don't let it get to you. I know what you mean about references in score threads. I did it once myself, then someone gave me a gentle nudge and I realised what I had done and removed the post. I could PM the guy and ask him to do the same before any more damage is done, ok? Just remember, this is all for fun and there's no such thing as a "weak link" here!

Keep your chin up, get some sleep. Things will most likely be better in the morning, eh? :)

Well its the morning here, I entered...eventually...Death. I am doing as I expected so not too concerned about that BUT what is getting me is this idea of what Death is.

The Person(s) who state "roadkill won't cut it" and "lots of dead leaves, cemeteries...etc etc" (generalizing the statements I just dont understand. The title is DEATH! The challenge details were Create an image that explores death.Roadkill, cemeteries etc etc are all part of death...unless I am sorely mistaken???

Whats pissing me off is I can see the top 3 places going to stunning landscape shots that have zero to do with death. I just dont get this place sometimes.

Sorry for the rant ladies....

well my shot, which I am going to self dq is at 4.2 now...

well constructed, understandable criticism I can take. comments about shots before voting ends I can not. Since select few decided to determine what did or did not meet challenge and should or should not receive a decent vote my score went down 1.5 points.

I have little to no doubt: just because the audience (voters, viewers, whatever) might not ALWAYS understand where the photographer was coming from or might be going with the shot, there IS a reason that photographer submitted and/or took that shot.

prior to even saying I was going to dq my shot I reported the post(s), why I felt they were inappropriate (can just see leave scores and cemeteries, roadkill, etc dropping like the dead ;-) and I also emailed the first commenter. I have not had a chance to email the 2 gentlemen who followed along same lines of convo. Bottom line....use some common sense, follow some sort of ethics (defined in webster as: the rules of moral conduct governing an individual or a group).

I do agree with Rinac's comment "remember, this is all for fun.." I sound like whiney sore loser but it's more for EVERYONE in challenge that fit the description of "leaves, roadkill, cemeteries, etc) dang it's same ole horse been beat to death zillion times in here so I'ma hush...send good thoughts, vibes, and prayers to karmat's daughter and keep Hanae/MAK in my thoughts in try to link on the those happy vibes they HAVE to be sending out :-)

submitted request to site council for self-dq permission and instructions on how heck I even do that...lol doh is me.

you know, the world should agree to disagree and I am greatful everyone doesn't think the same...but ya know...if I EVER EVER EVER harm another's scores, feelings, or ANYTHING please please let me know :-)

I dunno if there will be a WPL4 but if so I'd like to keep our same team and if anyone doesn't agree then I'd like to at least remain in touch. You ladies set the standard on attitude (encouragement, intellect, humor, etc etc) and can teach me soooooooooo much photography AND attitude wise. Please stay part of my life :-) (gawd that sounds sorta pathetic, which it isn't meant to...LOL) think I'll hush now...hootie hooot...
