they dont have values for double diget numbers, hope this is what you needed |
No, what I need to find is a table which shows the actual characters which correspond to ascii codes 1 to 30. As far as I have found, those ascii codes are not assigned a printable character, so I am stuck here I guess. |

unfortunately I am having the same problem. First, the key table I cannot find on my computer so I guess I don't have that font. Second, it is key to use the correct word for the xor function. I have tried the three most obvious and none make a sensible word. Third, if you are looking at the answers on the French page linked above, you will get confused as it assumes certain things which are just not present on an English computer (as far as I can tell - but this is the first time I looked at that page, shows my level of frustration - my French is rusty but I think I get the gist of what they are saying and it doesn't add up in English). This is the first level I am really frustrated at. Following the directions of the clues it just doesn't add up, or seems not to anyway.
ok, on to yet another attempt with yet another possible word for the xor function. The only thing here is that it must have the same number of letters as the key word given. |

I don't think the answer will be an obvious one based on the clues given. It seems that the answers to any given level have been related to the next level, and have little relationship, if any, to the level being worked on. I have also tried several obvious answers... none of them worked for me either. |

OK, after a lot of thinking and trying, I gave up and checked the solutions page for a hint or idea. Wow, the solution is way beyond what my meager brain would have thought up! Very complicated. Here's the rub... even after looking at the solution, I still can't solve this because I can't find ascii character codes for the numbers that I got in the end. Anyone who wants to lend me a hand... I need to find a table of ascii codes and characters for code values 23 and less. |
I would rather be stupid for a moment then for a lifetime...what the heck is ascii? I can't find it in google in words that I can understand. I guess I need a little education.

Each character that a computer can generate has a number code associated with it, called an ascii code (American Standard Code for Information Interchange). You can find them here: Wikipedia |

What does that mean? Yes, the codes are not assigned a character? Yes, I am stuck here?
If you have a website which discusses these particular ascii codes, could you provide me with a link? My searches have turned up nothing. |

lol alright, ok so you figured out what the word was right? just use the letters that are under the numbers you got, the ascii values for the word. Hope that makes sence. BTW your not supposed to spell the word with those moveable peices, your supposed to spell the ASCII value for that word. |

Yes, those ascii characters do not exist, yes, you're stuck with this approach. Try something else.
You can use MS Word or sth similar to find ASCII characters. Type ALT+Code for the symbol, or Insert->symbol, pick a letter/symbol and see the ascii code in the lower right hand corner. |

I had tried that and was getting no characters being generated. However, when I moved from the laptop to the desktop, it worked... not sure why not on the laptop (I guess it has something to do with not having a number pad on my laptop. Anyway, got the solution and will start on the next level tonight. Thanks Gloda. |

You don't need a microphone. In fact, if you have one, switch it off. |

How's that? I needed to use one. Is there a way to access the file directly (for those of us w/o the macromedia software? |

Um, I don't want to be too obvious, but this should help:
Sometimes you need to listen to what you say.
BTW, that's the kind of info you'd get on the official forum. Helpful if you're nearly there, but not giving it away for the others. |

The equation in the level tells you what to do. You will need the hex editor to do it

bah, ok i opened both ey.txt and mil.zip with the hex editor, then i tried copy pasting one onto the other, both ey.txt onto the end of mil.zip and vise-versa and both times i just get a corrupted file. Am i supposed to remane it something different? or am i doing this all wrong? |
