In THIS thread, I mentioned I was about to clean my sensor using 'Visible Dust Swabs.'

I thought you would all be interested in the results!

First of all, I think I take the crown for DIRTIEST sensor ever! I didn't know it was THAT bad until I snapped a pic at f/22!!! In one year and 9100+ clicks, this is the first time I have cleaned my sensor *blush*. The Swabs made a HUGE difference. It is not perfect, but it is a drastic improvement.

I did do a pass with levels on each pic just so the dust is easier to compare.

After:

After #2, I think the first one was out of focus:

LOL....
I pre-focused on a tree and recomposed. I think maybe I didn't do that in the first after pic so I just shot another an posted it :)

I wouldn't worry about the background. The best way to judge the sensor dust is to not have any recognizable (i.e. in focus) background at all. I point my camera at a white wall and purposely de-focus the lens. Switch to f/22 or higher (which I see you did) and then do a quick auto-levels on the image.

Yes, yes! Seattle needs your sensor cleaning skillz!

...I was also alarmed by all the spirit orbs in your first photo. Did you also perform an exorcism on the sensor? ...we could use that here in Seattle also. :)

Just funnin' - thanks for posting - I have never "touched my sensor" in nearly two years and 15,000+ clicks. Obviously that's why I have never ribboned.
