You think ol' Jimmy didn't have a helmet on his soldier? |

Not sure about James, but if I ever hooked up with someone named Pussy Galore, I believe the soldier would have had two or three helmets.

If I remember right there was an SNL skit about this. I believe the host was Sean Connery and he was at a clinic learning he had every STD in the book.

This is from wikipedia: "In 1954, CBS paid Ian Fleming $1,000 USD for the rights to adapt Casino Royale into a one hour television adventure as part of their Climax! series."

Do you think that using this reference as a title will be seen as DNMC by the voters?

Man, the week is nearly half over, and there are only seven submissions.

Whoever enters has a pretty good shot at top ten. :) |

I think that there will be 50+ entries by the time the week runs out. It is easy to think of subjects that can fit in some way - the hard part is that the title will have little relevance to the image.

 Examples:
 "Martini, shaken not stirred"
 A girl in a bikini
A gun (I think James uses a Walther)
 Replicate the opening title scene:
 Goldfinger: paint your finger gold
 A flash car
 A gadget from "Q"

This will be a challenge where the images may not have a tight link to the topic

Bond themes are really not limiting - you can stick greatly to a book or film, sure, and that may be tricky for people who don't know them, but there is a much wider Bond theme that surrounds the essence of Bond. Suave, sophisticated, sexiness, the world of casinos or spies or glamour, sweeping locations with sports cars. There's a world of possibility.

No, you are right - but the challenge description says: "Title your submission with the name of the work that inspired it." - which means that you can't use more general "Bond stuff" unless you want to risk a lot of DNMC ratings from nitpickers...

True. I guess you would have to research to find an appropriate Bond publication. Do-able though. |

that actually means that you can use a bond film or a scene to inspire the photo. Doesnt mean it has to be a replica. IMO :-)

Exactly. Casino Royale could have inspired my decision to take a photo of a martini in a posh-looking glass. It doesn't mean I have to shoot a photo of a scene from the book / movie.

People voting DNMC because they don't get the inspiration are of course free to do so, but that's the same in any challenge. |

I'm happy with the amount in there, if there aren't any more, I'm guaranteed a top 21 finish.

I double-dog dare someone to shoot this one. I'm not fluent in Spanish (Portugese?), but I get the basic drift.
