PENTAX-F SMC 50MM F1.7 Autofocus Lens
He says it will work on the pentax digitals.
From what I understand I would have to set the aperature on the lens.
I have the Pentax istDL camera.
Should the auto focus work ok?
Would my camera be able to tell what aperature I have set on the lens and still be able to pick shutter speeds for me?

If you look at the photo, it has an "A" setting on the aperature ring, so you should not have to set it on the lens.
If it is the same one as this://www.dpchallenge.com/lens.php?LENS_ID=338, you might want to PM one of the owners.

cool, thanks.
I see you have a Pentax FA 50mm f/1.4 AF
What would be the difference in the PENTAX-F SMC and your Pentax FA besides the aperature? |

| I can't say I know that much about it. You might take a look at the pentax site. They may describe the differences. |
