I lived out in the back woods in the Adirondacks, and drove 17 miles on a back road to pick up my mail. I always carried my camera except for this one day that taught me a good lesson. I noticed something in a tree just ahead. I slowed down, came to a halt and there just a few yards away was a black bear cub. Another time while out on a remote lake in the Adirondacks in a boat, we saw something swimming not too far from us. At first we thought it was an otter...but as we got closer we realized it was a bear. He had a large trout in it's mouth, while we were catching NOTHING!!!! I did have a camcorder that time. The bear swam to shore, shook like a dog, and bolted into the woods. Unfortunately he dropped his fish. :-( After those two times I captured foxes, bears, turkies, deer, coyotes, and the beautiful Pine Martens. Those were great times! I no longer live in the wilderness...that only lasted 5 years, but were some of the best in my life.
