Oops, when I put together the subject line with the originator, I wasn't expecting a thread about real, physical illness!
So sorry to hear you're not well...... but at least you could get some good shots for craptography.com ;)
Get better soon! |

yep. 3:33 a.m. and I'm sitting in the basement with the computer because I don't have a laptop. the cat woke me up (for the 2nd night in a row) trying to cough up a hair ball and I'm wondering if instead he's eaten something from the christmas boxes i set out to decorate with. so here i am, congested and unable to go back to sleep keeping Slippy company as he sits on the can. (there, there, Slippy, go back to bed and you'll feel better in the morning....) |

Ooh, watch out for tinsel! We discontinued tinsel at our house. We had a cat (RIP) that had a penchant for pine needles and tinsel. The tinsel would come out the other end as clear plastic strips, the chrome having been 'digested'. There would be the standard bum-dragging until someone could pull the entire length out.
The pine needle incident resulted in a midnight run to the vet for x-rays, as we thought it might be a hook. X-rays at midnight are very expensive. But at least we have a really cool Halloween decoration, as the vet let us keep the almost full-body x-ray!
edit... didn't die of Christmas decorations... old age.

Thanks for the seasonal public service reminder! :)
Tinsel has been banned in my house for years and years now....(I know about the bum dragging). But now I wonder if he's been gnawing on the tree. I wouldn't put it past him. Haven't seen signs of partially digested tree bits though (at either end). Maybe he just needs some down-time like the rest of us....
....which reminds me, what are you still doing up after I told you to go to bed?
(Aw, heck! What am I still doing up?!) |

Made the call. :-(
Hopefully it won't rain and I can go hang out by the lake again. Hopefully I'll get some sleep tonight. :-/

Just take it easy...you wouldn't want to get caught looking like you were having fun while playing hooky.
It's gloriously foggy here this morning. The kind of fog that if I walked out into it I could disappear just like they do in the movies....fade away and never come back....hopefully I won't do that. :-} |

Just put that box of Shredded Wheat back in the cabinet where it belongs and you should be fine. Oh, and just say "no" to tinsel. :-o |

Bummer to Slippy and KaDi. Our house was sick last week, just in time to not eat our fair share on Thanksgiving. Hope you feel better soon. (And we've done the cat tinsel ass thing, too. Yay.)

Eh, I guess I'm one of the sick people too. Throat's feeling funny, kinda scratchy. I'm hoping it doesn't become a full-blown sickness - I've got finals coming and can't afford to be sick!
On the other hand, I was just up to see my family over the holiday, so I'm probably doomed. I can fight off 14,000 sick people at university for months, but three days around my family and I'm instantly sick, almost every time.
Blah. I'm off to find some of thos Vit-C tablets.

At least you're doing the right thing and staying home, nothing is worse than having your co worker tell you all about the nasty flu they're fighting off right after you shake hands with them. They should be home, but NOOOOOO here they are, showing what a trooper they are, spreading extra strength colon blow virus to the whole office.
Thanks! |

I recently started teaching my kids' Sunday School class. Two weeks ago, there was a little girl in there coughing and hacking and sneezing and snotting. I thought to myself, "I really wish she had stayed home today." The next week, another little girl in the class had it. Yep, now both of my kids have it. My little girl has shaken most of it off, but my son will probably end up at the doctor again. Anytime he gets a cold or something, it turns into bronchitis, walking pneumonia, or some other drastic lung disorder.
Stay home if you are sick. We do not want it!
And yea, calling in dead is disagreeable if you ever "get better." |

Marge: Homer, the plant called. They said if you don't show up tomorrow don't bother showing up on Monday.
Homer: Woo-hoo. Four-day weekend.

Oh SNAP!
Will it ever end? I'm about to slap quaranteen signs on my house and keep my family captive until we can recover.
Now that the flu has come and gone, STREP THROAT is here. The kids get to take banana-flavoured drugs and I just get horse-pills, how is that fair?
I spent Wednesday in bed with chills and a fever working up to my current state of streppiness. The doctor said my older daughter actually had Scarlet Fever caused by her strep, poor sweetie. What an archaic-sounding ailment.
I don't have a clue how the wife has managed to stay healthy through all of this.
So today my office is the living room where I'll do some webby-work to attempt to keep putting some food on the table. I may even build a fire (in the fireplace!) for added atmosphere.
