I'm heading to BestBuy to get myself a printer. Not a color photo printer, just an inexpensive b/w for printing docs. While I'm there, I'll meander over to the programs area to take a look. Just curious..the DVD's that are sold with '2000 filters for PS'. Are they worth it? I realize I most likely wouldn't use 90% of them. But, honestly...I have no idea which filters I even want and it would be a good way to see them all...deleting the ones I don't like obviously. Something similar to this.

Most of the really good plug-ins and filters are available online - most for free. The best ones available anywhere (imo) are Nik's filters (Nik Color Efex Pro), though they are not free. The ones pre-packaged like you describe are usually just fun and weird color effects, but not very useful in everyday image processing.

OK, thanks Cindi. I kind of figured that. I've never paid for any filters before. But, somewhere along the lines, I lost all the registration codes I accumulated. I still have some though.

Hey, google an action called "Midnight Sepia" its based on one of Nik's filters, but has been copied by several action/filter-makers online. Its uber cool and gives an elegant grunged effect. :)
