I was walking through a park in Wiesbaden and another couple was there taking pictures with their Nikon D50. She looks over at me and I hear "Ahhhhh..." After that, it was in German, but it bascially was "Oh, look! It's a way cool lens!" So I let her play with my camera a bit, then her hubby came to take a look. Cameras are a universal language. :-)

My adventures in Germany thus far, for those interested, are chronicled somewhat in the "Whatever happened to Team Suck" thread, since that's where I hang out. :-) Pictures are in the Friends and Family folder in my portfolio. Haven't downloaded todays shots yet, though. But I did pull a Joey - there was an older gentleman with great character. I asked him in basic sign language if I could take his picture - he agreed, I think, and proceeded to tell me a story, along with a clipping from his wallet of his picture in the paper, from 1985. I left 2 euro in his case. (And can someone tell me how I can get the euro sign on my American keyboard?)

Also discovered that 15 degrees C is perfect for walking around. Lovely town, this Wiesbaden!
