I was playing around with the exposure plot software [it just plots the various variables of your images] and it made me think of how long I have spent actually taking pictures. I don't mean the side rubbish of hauling gear and setting up stuff - I mean how long has the shutter been open if you add it up over your life so far?
Obviously the astro types would win due to the multi-hour exposure times but a sports only shooter at 1/500+ of a second per shot would take years to get even minutes of exposure.
My guess for me would be around 5 minutes :-) |

i don't take pictures - my camera does - i only push a button ;)
except withthe pinhole camera -where "i" am the shutter mech .. then you can say 20-60 min ;) |

OK... typical wedding
shutter speed usually at 1/200 or slower to allow for Shutter sync of flash (or slower to allow for ambient light fill).
Typically anywhwere between 400-600 shots or MORE.
= 2-3 or greater minutes per wedding.
Pretty much the same for beach swimsuit shoots.
